I know I am going to over use this new set. I love all the images, especially the balloons, the pennant, the gift boxes, the....well the whole set really!!!!
Can't wait to try out the pennant happy brithday, but for today I settled on inking up the balloons. Maybe later I will get some ink on the pennant greeting!
I like the vibrant colors in this new DSP (Cheerful Treat). I also like polka dots!! I tend to hoard buttons rather than use them, so here I included four!!!! Enjoy!
This is one of those stamp sets I could not wait to get my hands on. When we lived in Oregon we had a special neighbor, Al Reiner, who had the most gorgeous garden in the neighborhood. Grandpa Al, as we called him, could produce dinner plate size dahlias that were absolutely stunning. His wife Doris had the perfect view from her chair in the family room, since she was not able to get out of the house much, due to poor health. Al took so much pride in his garden and growing his prized dahlias just where Doris could see them! I miss Grandpa Al and each year I plant a new dahlia in honor of him!
I really love the dahlia in this stamp set and could not wait to ink it up. The possibilities are amazing with this set. I am sure you will grow weary of it showing up here on my blog (you have been warned)!!!!
You can't tell from the picture but I stamped the flower image in versamark and then heat embossed it. I then took a few of my markers and colored all over the image. I wiped off the excess ink and the color was left in the non-embossed spaces. I also embossed the greeting with white embossing powder. I really like this marker technique.

my favorite color combo! It might be that it reminds me of days at the beach, especially Squeaky Beach (because the sand squeaks when you walk on it) in Wilsons Promontory National Park, in southern Australia! The colors are so rich and easy to work with. I think this card is a keeper!!
I am so excited that Stampin' Up! included the Decor Elements in the new Idea Book and Catalog. I have used several different designs of the elements in the past: flowers all over the walls in my daughters bedroom, a framed WELCOME on the way to my studio, and this is my most recent project. The frame was a great find along the side of the road one evening this summer. It is a treasure to me, but thankfully not to its previous owner, so I snagged it for a mere $20. I am thrilled with the way this looks. Applying Decor Elements to any project is easy, as long as you follow the directions! Let me know if you have a project in mind, I would be happy to help!

I am having fun creating with new goodies . . . still! This card uses some new colors (Island Indigo, Pool Party and Lucky Limeade) and I love them combined. I love the new Flirtatious DSP that includes these intricate doilies in a sheet. They come in Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo, but the back side is pure white and so they are not limited to being used with those two colors.
You can see in the next photo that I raised the doily flower stack up a little. I like how it turned out. How about you, are you enjoying the new colors?
It seems summer is slipping away faster than I am ready. Do you feel that way too? Took a minute or two to create today, using a color challenge that screams summer. See what you think. I think it is one of my favorite cards in a long while! It uses some new goodies, too.
Supplies: Cardstock - Naturals Ivory. DSP - In color stack. Ink - Lucky Limeade, Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green. Stamps - Precious Butterflies, En Francais. Other - Basic Pearls (colored with markers to match), tulle, paper daisies, twine, button. Punch - Scallop Trim border.
