There are so many possibilities for adorable Valentine's or heart-focused projects with the current mini catalog.  I am having fun creating and will share two quick projects with you today that I have done in the last week.  The first is a really easy Valentine treat, that would work well for mass production if need be!  It doesn't take a lot of product either, making it really economical. 

I used Melon Mambo for my solid cardstock, but you could use any color that you love!  The cardstock is 6.5" x 2.25" and you score it at 2.25" and 4".  I used dsp from the stack of brights paper, so many good choices in the paper stacks (love the polka dots especially).   The dsp is 2.25" x 2".  Then I punched a 1 & 3/4" scallop circle in melon mambo, stamped the image from the P.S. I Love You set and pop it up on a dimensional.  The cardstock holds a heart-shaped lollipop, adhered with sticky strip, and then put your favorite ribbon tied around the lollipop stick!  Enjoy sharing these.

This paper is stunning, all by itself, so I left the card front rather simple.  The paper is in the twittpated paper pack.  Once I snailed it to the card front, I punch a heart.  Then on the inside I stamped a piece of whisper white with the school lines stamp, and the greeting is from the P.S. I Love You set (can you tell it's a favorite set already!).  This stamp set has so many possibilities, no just for Valentine's Day, but for all year long.  The final touch was punching a mini heart and snailing it under a bitty heart button that is threaded with cherry cobbler baker's twine.  Love it!

One Stamp, Two Ways

I was stamping with some friends today (hi ladies!) and since I was busy chatting I messed up as I was demonstrating a card.  So, rather than throw it in the rubbish bin, I decided to use and re-work it.  So, that was the birthing of a blog post - one stamp, two ways!  I like the idea so much I think I will make it a regular post each week - what do you think, is that a good idea?

Here is the first card.

This card is created on a basic gray base, with some twitterpated dsp.  I stamped the large floral image from Bordering on Romance all over the whisper white cardstock.  I love this technique, spotlighting, and after coloring the image and popping it on blushing bride cardstock, I put the tiny pearls in the centers of the flowers.  I finished the card off with some riding hood red satin ribbon and the fresh FREE organza ribbon available through Sale-A-Bration!

So here is the second card.

I love this particular image in the Bordering on Romance set, it's perfect for coloring, or creating your own background paper.  I am looking forward to playing with it on watercolor paper too!  Here is a close-up, so you can see the center of the flowers.

Take 2

This is one of my all-time favorite projects!  It was a marathon to get it made, so I probably will only ever make one!  But it was truly worth all the effort.  There were some really great tips on the demonstrator website, and once I decided on a color scheme and got to work, it came together really well.  Is it bad that I still have it in my family room?  I just LOVE it!  The vibrant colors, the crisp black frame, the dimension and all the little peek-a-boo frames! 

So many little details, but totally worth the work! Check out the pop and dimension from the close-up angle!

Flashback

Wow, it sure seems like Christmas was a lifetime ago.  Since it is a super busy time for me with my "real" job, I did not get to post like I would like to!  So, I hope you will indulge me in a few flashbacks, who knows it might inspire you, even though Christmas is long gone.  This particular project can be done anytime of year, and is always greatly appreciated by the recipient.  While it looks fancy and so spiffy, it really does not take an enormous amount of time to prep!  So, I hope you enjoy this project!
